Abstract
|

|
The infertile couple represents a challenging problem in gynecological practice. While treatment may be succesful in certain situations, for the women with bilateral tubal obstruction the prospects for reproduction are not encouraging. Successful in vitro fertilizaticn of human oocytes has been reported by sveral investigators. The method has teen develcred fcr treatment of infertility due to irreversible tubal destruction.
The present review will attempt to summarize recent higlights in this field. A complete chronological history is not intended although collection of human cccystes will be triefly reviewed with sperm capacitation, cocyte maturaticn, fertilizaticn, embryo development and transfer.
